The Admin of The Catacombs Forum Inches Ever Closer to Unambiguously Holding the Position that Benedict XVI and Jorge Bergoglio Are Doubtful Popes

In this post, I demonstrated that if one holds that Novus Ordo Rite of Consecration is doubtful, then he must conclude that Jorge Bergoglio is a doubtful pope.  The same would apply to the current pope, Benedict XVI.  In a thread started today (January 23, 2020), the Admin of The Catacombs inches ever closer to unambiguously holding the position that Benedict XVI and Jorge Bergoglio (who I hold as an antipope) are doubtful popes.  You may read the thread here.  Now I qualify it with “ever closer” because I sense that the Admin still wants to be able to say that Jorge Bergoglio is pope.  Here is how the Admin ends the thread:

“For Mélanie Calvat to use the phrase ‘doubtful popes’ in her prophecy validates the prudent stance taken by Archbishop Lefebvre and all his true sons that these Conciliar popes [particularly Benedict XVI and Francis to whom this prophecy may well apply!], are still considered ‘popes.’ But one cannot say with certainty that they are not doubtful.”

To pinpoint the words of interest, the Admin is saying that “Benedict XVI and Francis are still considered ‘popes’, but one cannot say with certainty they are not doubtful”.  Notice the double negative, which is a good way of muddling expressions.  Let’s make it a bit more clear:

I consider Jorge Bergoglio to be the pope, but I cannot say with certainty that there is no doubt he is the pope.  In other words, I consider Jorge Bergoglio to be the pope, but not to the degree where I can say that he is certainly the pope.

Basically, based on the expression, the Admin holds that “Jorge Bergoglio is the pope” as an opinion.  However, the Admin has to go back and state that “it is my opinion that the New Rite of Consecration is valid”.  If the Admin insists that the validity of the New Rite of Consecration is doubtful, then the Admin has to conclude that “Jorge Bergoglio is a doubtful pope”.  The Admin has to pick one or the other.  Which one is it?

  1. Just saw that the reply button is AWOL AGAIN on the Catacombs thread. I was thinking of going into the category at the bottom of the page ” Report Abuse”.

      • Well that seems to me to be abusive toward other Catholics indeed because
this policy is contrary to truth as this denies most Catholics who seek the truth on salient topics to be abandoned when they might benefit from being treated in a more respectful
        manner.
Was this always the way this forum has been managed?

          • I never had any previous desire to contribute replies or other ideas in the Catacombs forum until I came to want to fully understand the truth which concluded in the undeniable truth that Benedict XVI is the one only pope of the One, Holy, Catholic, and Apostolic Church and the other claimant, jorge bergoglio is not the pope. When this was fully realized, I wanted to help others to come to the truth, and so I wanted to share this with other Catholics on the Catacombs for obvious reasons.
As I have been mostly not allowed to participate in the Catacombs forum in this regard, I think this is why I have been shut out.
This just does not seem right by any stretch.

  2. Admin, Kelley, and all of those in the little flocks of Traditional Catholics throughout the world who greatly labor toward the TRUTH, we will certainly be led to it by SHE who is our LIFE, our SWEETNESS, and our HOPE.
“It is necessary for all militant Catholics to be on their feet and fight with the weapons that have been given to them.” Pope Pius XII, December 8, 1953.
We trust and know that you, Tony, will continue to persevere to the end and fight the good fight for the TRUTH.
We must continue to pray, pray, pray the daily Rosary for us all.

    • What is the Admin’s accurate position regarding the question of whether Benedict XVI or Jorge Bergoglio are true popes? This is still not clear. Let’s first be accurate regarding what our current position is and then let us move forward from there. What I don’t like, though, is that the Admin is trying to fit the Archbishop within either the “doubtful” pope or “opinion that he is pope”, but neither of these are accurate. I have no doubt that Archbishop Lefebvre would accept Benedict XVI as a true pope with moral certitude. Think about it; has Archbishop Lefebvre ever questioned Joseph Cardinal Ratzinger’s episcopal consecration?

You nailed it with this one.
Also, the many wise quotes concerning the pope/papacy from A. LeFebvre, and that they are omitted and avoided is troubling because the Archbishop prepared the way for the times which he knew were coming and have now conclusively arrived for those to fully understand that jorge bergoglio is the counterfeit pope of the counterfeit conciliar church.
This smacks of . (fill in the blank)
The reluctance to understand that Pope Benedict remains pope when one claims so vociferously that one is fully committed to following in the line of Archbishop LeFebvre is becoming untenable.
